Enough

I am a stay at home mom to this sweet, beautiful, wild one year old.
Just look at that face! Can you think of any better way to spend your days than playing with her? I must confess that I have wasted way too many days worrying about things out of my control instead of just enjoying every second I get to spend with her. I have spent countless hours trying to find a way to contribute financially to my family when there is no need for me to because my husband works hard so I can stay home. I've done it because I feel guilt for being able to stay home. Mostly I've done it because I want to feel like my life has more worth than being "just" a mom.
I'm learning from my mistakes though. I'm learning to cherish the days I get to spend chasing behind my little girl. Instead of feeling guilt or stress about the life I am living, I am feeling grateful for the tremendous blessing God has given me. I am making every effort I can to get lost in this wonderful life of being "just" a mom. I want my baby to know more than anything else in the world that being her mom is enough for me.

A little about + DIY fan makeover!

Hello blogging world!
I've been reading craft & decorating blogs for the past few months & been feeling a little stalkerish. So that I can atleast be a fellow blogger following sites & not just some random internet creeper. I'm a newlywed trying to make our first home beautiful without forcing us into foreclosure :). I live for trash pile finds & diy anything, my poor husband on the other hand is never quite as excited about my stories of trying to shove futons from the side of the road into my mothers vehicle as I am. But, he loves me so he goes along with all my crazy craft/decor/"treasure" hunting schemes. I have no idea what to say so I guess you can learn more in future posts. I'll leave you with a DIY fan makeover I am so proud of!!
Our home has the ugliest contractor grade fixtures everywhere!! We are currently working on our master bedroom & I realllllly wanted a new ceiling fan but everytime Husband takes me to Home Depot I cringe at the price tags! He is all about buying shiny new fixtures though. I convinced him to take our old one down & let me make it over by telling him he could pick the new one if he didn't like it. Anyway here it is.........

(ok not the best picture all I had was my Iphone)
Isn't it beautiful?? The whole redo only cost me $8 so that makes it even more exciting!! I spray painted all the metal black with some paint we already had on hand but if you're ok with the colorof yours then you're already half done with project. For my lovely damask fan blades I used wrapping paper that was left over from my wedding & a little modpodge(my only purchase). It took about an hour to cut the paper to the correct sizes, I used an exacto knife to cut down on tearing. Then the fun part of modpodging it to the blades. When they were completely dry I took them outside & sprayed a few clear coats on them for extra shine & voila a new fan was born :)
